The OODA Loop: Observe, Orient, Decide, Act
November 2025 - Author: Sgt. Graham Dunne
The OODA Loop was developed by USAF Colonel John Boyd in the early 1970’s, to use your opponent’s decision-making lag time against them. A pilot in the Korean conflict, he later attended Fighter Weapons School. Boyd graduated at the top of his class, and upon graduation, was invited to stay at the FWS as an instructor. Shooting Fundamentals: Breath
June 2025 - Author: Sgt. Graham Dunne

Typically, when shooters do not consider breathing, we see hits up and down the target, similar to buttons on a shirt. The shooter is firing during different stages of breath, during the rise or fall of the muzzle…
Shooting Fundamentals: Sights
May 2025 - Author: Sgt. Graham Dunne
When I entered the Marine Corps, 35 years ago, the emphasis on shooting fundamentals was high. I left the Marine Corps believing the Corps did two things very well: teaching rifle marksmanship fundamentals, and teaching leadership and followership…
Get a Grip: The Importance of Proper Grip in Firearms Handling
April 2025 - Author: Sgt. Graham Dunne
In 2020, I was being interviewed for a position as the lead firearms trainer, to train personnel contracted to protect assets for a U. S. intelligence agency, funded by Central Intelligence, you have most likely never heard of. (I had never heard of the agency before working for them, and was employed for around two weeks before I was told who we actually got our paycheck from.)
